No more drips! No more leaks! It’s time to fix up your gutters and roofs and protect your home for years to come. The best way to do this is with UniBond’s waterproof rubber seal and keep the elements out.
If the elements are slowly working their way into your home, it’s time to check your gutters and roof. Rubber sealant is the ideal product for gutter repairs because it is designed to fill connecting joints in guttering, creating a watertight seal to secure your home from even the most extreme weather.
- Repairing your gutter seams is easier than you might think! Just grab a ladder, a pair of gloves, and the right rubber gutter sealant.
- The first thing you need to do is locate the issue and work out if it can be fixed or if you need to replace the gutter completely.Â
- To repair the gutter, start by removing all debris, cleaning and drying the area.
- Cut the tip of the cartridge above the screw thread and trim the nozzle to size. Load the cartridge into a standard cartridge gun
- Apply the rubber sealant along any seams or holes that need fixing.Â
- If you need to fix another part of the gutter on top, or add a new piece on top make sure to apply the rubber sealant to the part underneath first.Â
- Once you’ve put in the new or existing piece on top, add more sealant along all of the outside seams.Â
- Smooth the sealant using UniBond 2in1 Sealant Remover and Smoother Tool.
If you found some cracks in your roof tiles you can also use rubber sealant to fix these quickly and easily. The following steps require a ladder. Don’t take any risks. Work with foresight and pay attention to your safety. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, stop. Tools and materials must be adequately secured against falling. Make sure that no persons can be injured by falling objects.
- Set up your ladder and make sure you can safely reach the roof tiles you need to fix.Â
- Clean the crack in the roof tile with a toothbrush or wire brush and a mix of water and washing-up liquid. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly.Â
- Cut the tip of the cartridge above the screw thread and trim the nozzle to size. Load the cartridge into a standard cartridge gun
- Apply the sealant directly on top of the crack and push it into the crack and smooth with either your finger or a smoothing tool.
